PRODUCTION
WAX MOLDS
3D Printed shapes are casted and fabricated in wax.
POUR IN ALUMINUM
After the wax molds are casted, hot aluminum is poured into the cast, erodes the wax molds and forming the shape in metal. The new form is then washed with sulfuric acid to brighten the surface and clean any excess wax residue.
WELDING
In this stage, the holes are mended, hinges and magnets are installed.
BOIL
After enduring heat from welding, the metal rusts and turns black. Boiling the form in Alum water removes the black rust.
SANDING
After boiling, the pieces are sanded again with a hand sander to flatten the surface for polishing.
POLISH $ ELECTROPLATE
The sanded pieces are then polished and electroplated in gold to achieve the reflective and shiny surface.
